Live your life simply
HyggeLab was born on Boccadasse beach, in Genoa, in the summer 2017, while sipping a cup of coffee by the sea.
Hyggelab are 3 friends, who share a passion for simple, nice and essential things. Three women in search of a more genuine and peaceful lifestyle, where they can enjoy the simple magic of hygge with family and friends, lay back and slow down, and feel at one with their lives.
What does ‘hygge’ mean?
Hygge is a Danish word with no equivalent translation in other languages, that Danish people have been using for over a century to define lots of happy and serene situations.
Hygge is a pleasant moment spent with friends or relatives, the people we love and trust, where everyone feels perfectly at ease. It is a way of living, the ability to discover joy in simple things, a feeling of coziness, well-being and assurance.
As Louisa Thomsen Britts states in The Book of Hygge, ‘Hygge is as simple as a candle, lit and placed on a windowsill to welcome someone home. It is both an inner and outer condition of simplicity; a clarity of presence and intention, and an honest, uncomplicated practice. … Hygge is a timeless practice, an everyday mindfulness that comes from a wholehearted participation in life. … Hygge pays attention to the concerns of the human spirit, turning us towards a manner of living that prioritizes simple pleasure, friendship and connection above consumption.‘
Everything can be hygge.
HyggeLab wants to become an inspiring place where creativity, ideas, people and projects can meet and share moments of … simple happiness.
